AMERICAN EXTERMINATOR - FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS AND PEST CONTROL TREATMENT INFORMATION
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Our transparent pricing covers most homes in the Treasure Valley 5000 square feet or smaller. If you have a large home or property, a surcharge will apply which we will discuss at time of inspection. Please visit our website for up front pricing.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We are always happy to help and give advice. We will come, inspect the property, and work with you on a pest management plan that works for you. We offer one-time service as well as no contract service plans for year-round pest protection.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We are licensed by the Idaho Department of Agriculture and are always examining and improving our service strategies. We have completed thousands of services in the Treasure Valley and surrounding areas. We are a local company and are very familiar with our local environment and pests.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
We were having rodent problems at our Cabin. Spiders and wasps at our full-time residence, ants, etc. We found that most pest companies are looking to sell long term contracts and seemed to do the bare minimum. They never established a connection between us and our property due to the constant rotation of technicians and the limited time they spent on our service. We started our pest control service with two things in mind. We provide a detailed quality service to our customers with classic family-oriented values. We treat your home like it was ours.
What types of customers have you worked with?
We mainly work with families and homeowners. Whatever your pest needs are, we can help you.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
When we handle ant service calls, it's always fun to educate and explain how ants work, and what it takes to properly treat them. We recently eliminated ants in three homes with fairly large infestations. It's a please to see customers happy and pest free. Wasps are also a nuisance, we recently removed over 10 large nests from a home. That customer will see a huge reduction in wasp activity this summer while spending time outdoors around their home. These jobs give us satisfaction because they improve the quality of time a family spends in and around their home.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
We recommend looking for a small family owned pest services where the owners have their feet on the ground and are involved in daily service calls. These companies will treat you like family and truly care about your home. With larger companies you risk having techs service your home that are rushing due to a high number of daily services on their schedule, and who also have little training or experience. If you choose not to hire us, please hire another small family owned company. You will be in much better hands.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Before reaching out to a pest control service, customers can do a few things that will help in reducing pest activity. Keeping shrubs and landscaping a foot away from the home will help in treatment access and also reduce harborage areas for pest trying to access your home. Inspecting for small homes in crawl space vents will help in mice activity accessing the home. Making sure there is no standing water around the home will reduce Mosquitos. Picking up after you dog daily will reduce fly activity. Keeping the property clutter free with help a pest service access the property and also reduce pest harborage areas. Please consider your pest tolerance and how much activity you are willing to or not willing to deal with. Taking these steps will help us develop a year-round treatment plan that will be cost effective as well as comfortable for your family.
